This seminar offers all recreational skippers the opportunity to refresh their knowledge and practise their radio English again before the next "sea voyage" so that they can use the radio without inhibitions. This is important because communication at sea must always be short and to the point, using standard maritime terminology.
Once the lines are cast off, there is no time for practicing.
It is also ideal for sailors and motorboat drivers who are about to take an SRC VHF radio exam.
The seminar is practice-oriented, which means that all participants get plenty of practice on original VHF radios, with one radio per person. All switches and functions on the DSC VHF radio will be explained to you in detail.
The devices are networked with each other so that communication between the "radio stations" is possible in a similar way to at sea. Typical scenarios from maritime practice are practiced in English and then discussed together, such as routine calls, safety and emergency messages and, of course, emergencies.
The seminar leader Peter G. Boot is a British citizen and speaks fluent German. He spent many years at sea as a radio officer in the British and South African merchant navy and is a recognized SRC instructor and examiner.
