History of Suisse@INTERBOOT

In 1962, traditional Swiss companies, such as Brunnert-Grimm AG and Boesch Motorboote AG, helped to get INTERBOOT off the ground in the first place, so they were the birth partners back then and are still on board and closely associated with the trade fair today.

From the very beginning, a close partnership was established, not only due to the physical proximity, but above all due to the shared nautical spirit, the great mutual respect and the shared passion for water sports, which has been very harmonious and successful for more than six decades. That's good, that's nice - and actually not normal!

Generally, INTERBOOT hosts over 10% of exhibitors and 20% of visitors from neighboring countries during its run on the exhibition grounds and in the INTERBOOT harbor area.

This makes Switzerland by far the strongest foreign nation.

In the early decades on the former exhibition grounds on Lake Constance, it was the "Pavillon Suisse" where the Swiss flags were presented in concentrated form, but for the last 20 years or so it has been the "SUISSE@INTERBBOOT" signet, which is an effective advertisement for the strong presence of a proud nautical nation at "its" water sports exhibition in the border triangle. Guests will be lovingly looked after by the crew and partners of the SBC.

Every year on Thursday there is a "Swiss Day" with special activities, guests and events. For example, not only was the first ever Swiss boat builder, Romana Caminada, introduced to the world in 1977, but also the greats of politics, showbiz and sport always admire the objects of their dreams with the famous "Swiss finish" and are very happy to "come over".

This is probably one of the reasons why many Swiss exhibitors regard INTERBOOT as their in-house exhibition and the meeting place for nautical Switzerland in foreign climes.

And every year, the host INTERBOOT looks forward to welcoming its beloved friends from Switzerland: welcome and feel at home!
